Gateway Flex—Tech Ops

Crewmembers with technical talent can choose their own location for training within a defined framework to become a JetBlue maintenance technician while maintaining their current position.

 
 
 
 
 

Our most flexible route to maintenance technician.

Crewmembers can pursue a flexible path to becoming a JetBlue Maintenance Technician, working in their current position while also attending a school of their choosing to earn an airframe and powerplant (A&P) certificate. After earning their A&P certificate Gateway Flex participants will spend time building experience in the JetBlue Apprentice/Training program before joining JetBlue as Aircraft Maintenance Technicians.

 
 

HOW IT WORKS

The path to maintenance technician via Gateway Flex-Tech Ops.

If accepted into the program, students follow a multi-phase training sequence.

 
 
 
  • Apply and be selected.

    • Meet eligibility requirements

    • Apply and be accepted for Gateway Flex-Tech Ops

  • Study and train.

    • May complete training and testing for the A&P at any school they choose

    • Must maintain employment in current position in good standing while working on A&P certificate

    • Upon successful completion of A&P certificate, Crewmember will be placed in queue for next available opening in Apprentice/Training program

  • Gain experience.

    • When open becomes available,

      Crewmember will begin work in the Apprentice/Training program

    • Must complete the program with favorable reviews in order to transition to a full-time position as a Maintenance Technician at program completion

Eligibility requirements.

All candidates must: 

  • Have worked at JetBlue for one year

  • Be a Crewmember in good standing (not on any form of progressive guidance) 

  • Successfully complete full Gateway selection process

  • Be legally eligible to work in the United States

 

 HOW TO APPLY

  • Step 1

    Submit an application during the designated period to join Gateway Flex-Tech Ops.

  • Step 2

    Complete a remote testing assessment.

  • Step 3

    If you’re selected to move forward, you'll be invited to meet with the JetBlue team for an interview and will be required to submit a specific writing sample.

  • Step 4

    If you’re selected for the program, you will be notified and provided with details on the next steps.
