Gateway University-Tech Ops
Students enrolled in airframe and powerplant (A&P) programs at one of JetBlue’s partner schools can apply to earn a conditional job offer for a position as a maintenance technician.
A perscribed route to becoming a maintenance technician at JetBlue.
Modeled after our Gateway University-Flight Ops program, Gateway University-Tech Ops allows students enrolled in airframe and powerplant (A&P) programs at one of our partner colleges/universities to earn a conditional job offer for a position as a maintenance technician at JetBlue.
Once accepted, students complete their training and education in their program and then earn their A&P certificate. Provided they meet all program requirements and pass required background and other related checks, those who complete the program will join JetBlue as maintenance technicians and will not be required to complete any additional JetBlue interviews.

If accepted into the program, students follow a multi-phase training sequence.

Apply and be selected.
Meet eligibility requirements
Apply and be accepted for Gateway University-Tech Ops and receive a conditional job offer (CJO).

Study and train.
Complete training and testing for the A&P at JetBlue partner school.
Complete pre-employment testing, background check, and verification of the FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificates.
Once completed successfully, the candidate will be given a class date to begin new hire training as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician.
Candidates must complete the Gateway program within three (3) years of receiving their CJO.

Gain experience.
Crewmember will begin work in the JetBlue Apprentice/Training program
Must complete the program with favorable reviews in order to transition to a full-time position as a Maintenance Technician at program completion
Eligibility requirements.
All candidates must:
Be enrolled as a student at a Gateway University-Tech Ops partner school
Must have completed all General Module courses in their program (for CCCC that is AMT110 and AMT120)
Must have a 3.0 GPA in their AMT courses (General education courses like public speaking, math, English, art, etc. will not count toward this)
This GPA must be maintained throughout their time in the program and will be reverified prior to onboarding at JetBlueHave worked at JetBlue for one year
Minimum Requirements for Maintenance Technician Position
High School Diploma or GED
Must be able to obtain a U.S. passport or a U.S. permanent resident card with a foreign passport and applicable visas to freely enter and exit, without restrictions, to all JetBlue destinations
Upon completion of Gateway program must have the ability to meet all requirements included in the Technician Maintenance requisition

If you’re selected to move forward, you'll be invited to meet with the JetBlue team for an interview and skills test.

If you’re selected for the program, you will be notified and provided with details on the next steps.
One faculty letter of recommendation is also required upon acceptance into the programApplicants are also required to submit a second letter of recommendation upon completion of the program prior to onboarding at JetBlue
